Authorship Criteria
Adabiyah upholds the principles of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in determining authorship. The journal considers authorship not only as recognition of scholarly contributions but also as a commitment to maintaining the credibility, accuracy, and integrity of published research.
To be recognized as an author, an individual must satisfy all of the following requirements:
Contributors who do not fulfill these criteria should not be identified as authors of the manuscript.
Every listed author must have a clearly defined and verifiable role in conducting the research or preparing the manuscript. Adabiyah requires authors to provide an Author Contributions Statement specifying each author's involvement in the study.
When relevant, individual contributions may be reported using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT). These roles may include conceptualization, methodology, investigation, formal analysis, data curation, manuscript writing, supervision, and other appropriate research activities.
The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between the authors and the journal's editorial team. This role includes ensuring that:
Contributors whose involvement does not qualify them for authorship, such as those providing technical support, administrative assistance, language editing, or financial assistance, should receive appropriate acknowledgment with their consent.
The journal does not permit guest authorship, gift authorship, or ghost authorship under any circumstances.
Artificial intelligence applications and automated systems are not eligible for authorship because they cannot independently accept accountability for the accuracy, ethics, or integrity of scholarly work.
Any proposal to add, remove, or modify the order of authors after manuscript submission must be supported by a clear written justification and documented consent from all authors affected by the proposed change.
The editorial team reserves the right to temporarily halt the review or publication process until any disagreement concerning authorship has been adequately resolved. When necessary, unresolved disputes may be referred to the relevant institutions for further investigation.
Requests for authorship modifications after an article has been published will undergo editorial evaluation. If approved, the changes must be communicated transparently through an appropriate publication notice linked to the original article.
Concerns involving improper authorship attribution, omitted contributors, or disagreements regarding intellectual contributions will be examined in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy and relevant guidance issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All authorship-related concerns will be addressed through a fair, confidential, and evidence-based process. Editorial evaluations and decisions must remain impartial and free from personal relationships, institutional pressures, or other inappropriate influences.
